          3 weeks ago, while sleeping, I was bitten by a brown recluse spider.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          That’s the consensus anyhow, no way to know 1000%.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Over the course of that first week or so, the bite area mutated into something that looked like leprosy.  I kept it covered so as not to freak people out.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Scary things can happen when the sun goes down.  At least that’s what our imagination will have us believe.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          This time of year, tonight and tomorrow night, imaginations run wild with scary things and possibilities.  It’s the imagination that makes Halloween so magical, at least for me and mine.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          If imagination is that powerful, when people can pretend to be something other than they are, then why aren't we using it more often to mold the life we want?
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Imagination is the greatest nation on earth.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

          Every Wednesday afternoon, I take the kids for a nice long bike ride to a playground, in which we play Michael Myers tag, followed by the ride back to my truck.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          It’s always one of the highlights of my week.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          When we are there, Emma is scaling the steps and slides, Tank and Brax jump off heights up to 7 feet high and my phone is nowhere to be found.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          All opposites when you compare how most operate.  When I go to crowded playgrounds, I see parents trying to stop their children from exploring and pushing their limits, I see parents on their phone, there in body, but not in mind.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          And I just shake my head.  It’s not out of judgment, well maybe a little bit, but more so out the missed opportunity to have a memorable experience.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          A friend recently remarked that she couldn’t believe how laid back we are with the kids.  I said, ‘Listen, in life, do the opposite of the majority and you’ll be right on target’.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          This has never failed me in fitness, nutrition, writing, business or parenting.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Just some food for thought.

          One was from a long time Newell Strength member, who had recently purchased my Panda Diet book.  She went through it and applied the lessons and protocol within and dropped 8 pounds, easily I might add, in her first week on the plan.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          She was ECSTATIC!
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

          The other text was from an old friend that ordered the book, read it in one sitting and wanted to inquire about joining the next Panda Challenge.  He raved about the book, over and over.

          There’s a whole bunch that went into that decision, but what I want to discuss today is the tough time I went through when I was FREE and able to work all day before heading into Newell Strength.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I thought that my schedule would be fantastic, I would have 8 hours or so of open time to create and work on the business.  Well, that quickly turned into 4 hours and even then, it took me quite some time to figure out how to manage myself.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          One of the hardest things to do as far as your ‘art’, is actually sitting down to do it.  The creative process isn’t the hard part, it’s carving out the time to plop your behind in the chair.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          You want to create something, you have some passion, I know you do because otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Sit down, map out each step that needs to happen and then take the smallest possible step towards your creation, preferably today, if not, then at some point this week.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Don’t allow ideas to just bounce around in your head.  Put pen to paper.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

      <title>If You Wait, It’ll Be Too Late</title>

          7 months ago, the country, and world at large, went into lockdown mode.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          There was mass panic and fear, which led to a lot of irrational decisions and actions.  For me, from a Mind Map perspective, this whole time has been a fascinating thing to witness as I watch the real world application of Mind Map unfold.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          For one, the emotional center of your brain functions opposing the logical, more human part of your brain.  When emotions are high, logic goes out the dang window.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Nevertheless, the point I want to make today is that I have had more people than I can count, reach out to me privately, to ask me how I’ve been able to stay positive and strong throughout.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          How’d I do it?  I’ve been preparing my mind my entire life to deal with whatever comes my way.  If I had not been such a student of the mind, then I may have fallen in lockstep with the masses and gone into a fearful state.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          If you are setting out to do a marathon, you train for it.  You don’t just show up the day of and hope for the best.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          The good news is that even if you’ve never trained your mind before, you can begin now.  You never know when the next time you’ll need to call upon the powers of your brain.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          But if you wait and keep putting it off, it’ll be too late.

      <title>Don’t Limit Yourself to the Your 5 Senses</title>

          3 years ago, while being taught by a great Zen Master, whom I paid handsomely for a year of Coaching, I saw him do something unbelievable.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          He was going through his Tai-Chi rounds on camera and then boom, he pushed energy towards the camera screen and you could see the screen from the other side vibrate.  You  could even see it on rewind.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I couldn’t believe it, but he could.  He explained that the five senses are really just surface level and that there are energy fields radiating all around us, that we can control to a large degree.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I’ve since been using his secret methods in my daily rituals and when I tell you that my visualizations come true, it's an understatement.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Do I have a super power?  Nope, I just learned from him and applied my learnings.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Your dreams, your thoughts and your body language, ALL of it radiates energy frequencies that you cannot see, just like radio stations.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I’ll be holding a small, private workshop in November (date TBA soon) teaching visualization and theater of the mind.  Keep an eye out.

          Fill in the blank: Failure diminishes _______________.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Her response when put on the spot like that was ‘confidence’.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

          She asked me my thoughts and my immediate gut response was ‘weakness’.

          I could see the lightbulb go off in her head.
         &#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Failure and resistance build you up.  If you are being built up, you are becoming stronger and less weak.  Resistance training of any sort makes you come back bigger and stronger (not only literally).

&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          When you train your mind, you see the opportunity in every setback.   Setbacks are for you, they don’t happen to you.

          To call Mary a fitness enthusiast would be an understatement.
         &#xD;

          She came to Newell Strength about 2 years ago and later joined the Panda Challenge this past summer.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Mary is a highly competitive endurance athlete, so her fears about the Panda were more based in performance.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Well, I received a text from her this morning that read: ‘Good morning. Just had to let you know I ran the Marine Corps Marathon yesterday, 26.2 miles, all alone, fasted.  Did not use nutrition, but did use a liquid IV which has electrolytes and almost zero sugar (just like the ‘juice’ drink I recommend).  Not to mention, I was not well prepared with training because of my new job and my time was one of the better ones and I feel amazing today! The Panda is an absolute game changer!’

          Two weekends ago, we were at one of our former intern’s weddings.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          It was a great time for both Devon and I.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          At our table, we had some cool people, one of whom was also trying to get into the fitness business.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          We wound up having a nice chat and as the night went on, he opened up about his fears.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I said, ‘Look, what are you actually scared of?  You’re not going to die if you did fail at opening your in-home personal training business.  And, the only way you’ll fail is if you believe you will fail.  If you give yourself no other option but to succeed, you’ll succeed.’
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I have a feeling after that little impromptu pep talk that he’ll be succeeding.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          As you believe, so you are.  Your thoughts lead to your beliefs.

          And sometimes, just having a chance conversation can flip the switch of your beliefs.

         Two weekends ago, we went for a kayak river trip with some family and friends.
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          It was a super nice Sunday, cool weather, quiet air, the smell of fall in the air.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          We hit the water around 930 AM and got back to the house shortly after two.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          It’s been a while that I have been on the water for that amount of time.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          I know that I find my source, my God, near water.  I feel connected unlike any other place.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Well, that afternoon, I felt such a serene calmness.  Almost in another realm.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          After I dropped the boys off at my parents, I got home, got out of the truck and nearly fell over.  And, the local Amazon guy, walked over to have a conversation with me.  I don’t think he could tell that I felt like I was going to faint but he must’ve thought, ‘Damn, that is one happy guy’.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          How can you slow down your mind, clear the clutter and let your spirit breathe?  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Figure it out and do it, your spirit will thank you.  
         &#xD;

         A few weekends ago, Devon and I were having a stay in date while my mom and dad were watching the kids.
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          We got to talking and as is common with mothers of 3 young children, she gets overwhelmed from time to time with all the household responsibilities.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Well, I asked her if she wanted a tip (learned this over the years, never just give advice outright) and indeed she did.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          I explained to her the tendency to want to do more, to go faster, to work harder, when we feel overwhelmed.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The answer though, is the exact opposite.  Slow down, have a dedicated time for just breathing and breath work/meditation each day, preferably early on.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The answer to an overwhelmed feeling is never ‘more’.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

      <title>Slow Down to Go Forward</title>

          A few weekends ago, Devon and I were having a stay in date while my mom and dad were watching the kids.
         &#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          We got to talking and as is common with mothers of 3 young children, she gets overwhelmed from time to time with all the household responsibilities.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Well, I asked her if she wanted a tip (learned this over the years, never just give advice outright) and indeed she did.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I explained to her the tendency to want to do more, to go faster, to work harder, when we feel overwhelmed.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          The answer though, is the exact opposite.  Slow down, have a dedicated time for just breathing and breath work/meditation each day, preferably early on.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          The answer to an overwhelmed feeling is never ‘more’.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          It was a super nice Sunday, cool weather, quiet air, the smell of fall in the air.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          We hit the water around 930 AM and got back to the house shortly after two.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          It’s been a while that I have been on the water for that amount of time.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I know that I find my source, my God, near water.  I feel connected unlike any other place.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Well, that afternoon, I felt such a serene calmness.  Almost in another realm.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          After I dropped the boys off at my parents, I got home, got out of the truck and nearly fell over.  And, the local Amazon guy, walked over to have a conversation with me.  I don’t think he could tell that I felt like I was going to faint but he must’ve thought, ‘Damn, that is one happy guy’.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          How can you slow down your mind, clear the clutter and let your spirit breathe?

      <title>Time Traveling is Not Impossible</title>

          About a week and a half ago, we dropped the boys off at my mom and dad’s for some play time and to go through some old action figures.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          When we went to pick them up, I saw some of my favorite toys from when I was 7 or 8 years old, still in perfect condition.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          As I held the Army Ant figurines and the Battle Toad guys, I went back 30 years instantaneously.  I could remember sitting going to the old toy shop in nearby Somerville and making my selections.

&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I remember sitting on the floor at my grandparents playing with them (we lived with them when we first moved to NJ).
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Hebb’s Law equals time travel.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;

          What is Hebb’s Law?
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

          It states that what gets fired together gets wired together.  Your favorite music, your favorite nostalgia, have the power to take you back in time and make you feel those very feelings you felt when those things became wired in your brain.

          Two weeks ago, we had Braxton’s birthday party at a local park.
         &#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          It’s a park that not many people know about, so it was perfect for what I cooked up.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          All the kids were to wear army camo and we divided them up into a red team and a blue team.  Earlier in the afternoon, I went and hung red and blue bandanas around the 30 acre park.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Red team was to gather and find the blue flags and vice versa.  The two little army teams each had toy guns to battle with each other and the kicker….
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          We had my brother in law dress up as Big Foot and run around the park, ducking in and out of trees and the tall grass.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          The kids were going nuts.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I’ll admit that as the sun was going down I was hoping and praying that we had all the kids (which we did).
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          It was a night Brax will remember forever and from the words of his cousins, they will too.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Imagination is the greatest nation on earth, just depends on whether or not you are using it to the fullest.
         &#xD;

          I remember first seeing an anatomy chart back in high school and being amazed at how many nerve endings there are in the feet and hands.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          They are both greatly tied into your brain and nervous system, more so than any other area of the body.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          If you want to expand and engage your mind, you have to do stuff with your hands and feet, preferably every day.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          As part of my morning routine I do a foot routine for my toes and then I write cursive with both hands and then perform a couple hundred taps with the mallet drill.  All in all, it takes 10-12 minutes and my brain is lit up like a Christmas tree.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I was shocked at how poor my motor control is within my feet when I first started training them a couple of weeks ago.  And in just a few short weeks I already have greater control of my toes and feel a higher level of brain power.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          The reason I am telling you this is because the further along the path we go with technology, it seems to be the less people are using their hands and feet in everyday activity.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Start writing in cursive, start drawing or painting, walk around a little more barefoot and take control of your brain.  Your attention, creativity and focus comes from the brain, so anything you can do to enhance brain power, will lead to a richer life.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

          Almost two weeks ago, on Braxton’s birthday, we had just gotten back from a family hike when the boys requested that I go play Michael Myers tag with them down at the river.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Heck ya!
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          I put on my one piece jumpsuit and Michael Myers mask and off we went.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          After playing for about 20 minutes near the river, I told the boys to move in towards the middle of the field (it’s about the size of a football field).
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Braxton, with Colt in tow, went around a wood pile that a neighbor keeps down there for bonfires.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I couldn’t see the boys for a few seconds because the pile of twigs and firewood sits behind a big stack of wooden pallets.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          As soon as the boys came into view, I saw something on the side of Colt’s head and then he started screaming.  I took one more step and a hornets swarm came into view.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Brax must have disturbed a nest that was hiding in the wood pile.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          I quick ran over and scooped Colty up (Brax had already booked it) and had to listen as he screamed as these damn hornets were biting him.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          They were biting me as well but my main concern was to get him to safety.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          The hornets were all over his sweatpants, which I ripped off of him, along with my Mike Myers mask.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          The 3 of us ran back to the house up the street, hornets in pursuit.  Brax actually got bit right as we were getting back to the house.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          All in, Colty got bit about 10-12 times.  Luckily he is tough as nails and was calm within 20 minutes of the incident.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          It was something that the 3 of us will never forget.  Even though it literally hurt, it will be a great memory (it’s all about perspective).
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
